Salty Crew's story is quite surprising - The brand was created by CJ Hobgood, a professional surfer. At 34, Hobgood spent six full years surfing professionally without main sponsors. It was an epic moment when he finally sold his real estate to his board, to himself. During this time, it was not easy to be part of the surf industry. Hobgood saw many of his friends lose their jobs. For some reason, the surf industry was starting to migrate away from the beach. After observing this, CJ Hobgood gathered a group of friends: his brothers, Jared and Hayden Lane, and retail veteran Milo Myers, and Salty Crew was born. Salty Crew is a movement to get back to the beach. Their goal is to bring surfing back to the ocean and encourage young people to get on the water and enjoy all it has to offer. Saving a lifestyle for the youth of tomorrow, S-A-L-T-Y. CJ has always been extremely humbled by those around him. The surf community gave Hobgood and his Salty Crew partners a purpose and allowed them to achieve their greatest dreams. Salty Crew members aspire to give back to their friends in the surf community. After being chewed up and spit out by the industry, Salty Crew wanted to create a refuge for other surfers. As the company grows, it hopes to sponsor surfers and offer them jobs. Today, Salty Crew has expanded into new territories. The outdoor and fishing markets continue to embrace the brand. Extending from the West Coast, Salty Crew has expanded to other locations such as the Rockies, the Midwest, and Canada. They continue to research and develop the brand to reach as many young people as possible. They hope to create a brand that will impact young surfers and young outdoor salt enthusiasts.
